Astana, SANA- The Kazakh Foreign Ministry\u00a0announced that the second Astana meeting on the\u00a0settlement of the crisis in Syria has been postponed till\u00a0Thursday due to technical reasons.<\/p>\n
The beginning of the next high-level session,\u00a0within the framework of the Astana process on the\u00a0Syrian settlement, has been moved to February 16, 2017,\u00a0the Ministry’s press service announced on\u00a0Wednesday.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Kairat\u00a0Abdrakhmanov said that the Astana meeting on the\u00a0crisis in Syria which was scheduled for February 15-16\u00a0will discuss the mechanism of monitoring the\u00a0cessation of hostilities agreement.<\/p>\n
The first meeting about settling the crisis in\u00a0Syria, which was held on January 23-24 in Astana,\u00a0affirmed in its final statement commitment to Syria’s\u00a0sovereignty, independence and territorial\u00a0integrity, in addition to emphasizing the strengthening of the\u00a0cessation of hostilities and fighting terrorism.<\/p>\n
