New York, SANA- United Nations Secretary-General\u00a0Antonio Guterres condemned the recent two\u00a0terrorist explosions in Bab al-Saghir in Damascus\u00a0which claimed the lives of scores of civilians\u00a0and injured others.<\/p>\n
The Secretary-General is appalled by the utter\u00a0disregard for human life displayed by the\u00a0perpetrators, and extends his deepest sympathy and\u00a0condolences to the families of the victims, many\u00a0of whom were pilgrims,” Deputy Spokesman for the\u00a0Secretary-General Farhan Haq said in a statement\u00a0on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Those responsible for the bombings, and anyone\u00a0carrying out attacks against civilians, must be\u00a0held accountable, he added.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, terrorists detonated two explosive\u00a0devices near Bab al-Saghir cemetery in Damascus,\u00a0killing and injuring scores of civilians and\u00a0causing material damage to the cemetery and the\u00a0public and private properties.<\/p>\n
Foreign and Expatriates Ministry addressed letters\u00a0to the UN top officials demanding that the\u00a0governments and regimes supporting the terrorist\u00a0organizations, mainly those of Turkey, Saudi\u00a0Arabia and Qatar and some Western states, be\u00a0compelled to stop all forms of support to these\u00a0organizations.<\/p>\n
