Damascus, SANA \u2013 Caretaker Health Minister Saad al-Nayef discussed with Resident
\nRepresentative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Damascus Elizabeth Hoff means for
\nimproving cooperation in terms of delivering medical aid to unsafe areas.<\/p>\n
Al-Nayef called for coordination to send a medical shipment by air to Hasaka province, in addition to
\ndelivering medicine shipments to Daraa, noting that the Ministry requested that the Health Directorate
\nin Hasaka provide all possible aid to Syrians and to Iraqis who took refuge in Syria due to the
\nescalating situation in their country.<\/p>\n
He said that the success in delivering medical shipments to Moadamiyet al-Cham in Damascus
\nCountryside and to Aleppo must be replicated across all provinces.<\/p>\n
In turn, Hoff presented al-Nayef with a letter of recognition from WHO Regional Director for the Eastern
\nMediterranean Ala Alwan, in which he expressed appreciation for the Syrian government’s
\ncooperation with the WHO in reaching people who need health services and improving humanitarian
\nrelief efforts.<\/p>\n
Hoff said that the WHO is committed to working with the Syrian government and partners in the health
\nsector to access every Syrian citizen who needs services.<\/p>\n
Last week, the Health Ministry sent around 20 shipments of medicine and medical supplies to
\nDamascus, Damascus Countryside, Homs, Aleppo, Hasaka, Daraa, Lattakia, Idleb, and Qamishli.<\/p>\n
