Damascus, SANA- A sit-in was staged in front of\u00a0the International Committee of the Red Cross\u00a0(ICRC) office in Damascus on Thursday to express\u00a0solidarity with the Syrian and Palestinian\u00a0detainees in the Israeli jails.<\/p>\n
A letter was delivered to the head of the ICRC\u00a0mission in Syria Marianne Gasser, in which the\u00a0participants called upon the ICRC and other\u00a0humanitarian organizations to assume their\u00a0responsibilities and put pressure on the Israeli\u00a0authorities to meet the legitimate demands of the\u00a0prisoners and work for releasing them, on top of\u00a0them Syrian prisoner Sedqi al-Maqt.<\/p>\n
The event was organized by the Committee for\u00a0Supporting Liberated and Detained Syrian Prisoners\u00a0in the Israeli Jails.<\/p>\n
On April 17th, the Syrian and Palestinian\u00a0detainees in the Israeli jails have declared an\u00a0open hunger strike to protest the racist and\u00a0inhumane practices committed by the Israeli\u00a0occupation authorities against them .<\/p>\n
