Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem on Thursday received on Thursday a delegation from the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce which will be participating in Damascus International Fair, headed by Chairman of the Federation Ahmed el-Wakil.<\/p>\n
Al-Moallem welcomed the Egyptian delegation, reviewing the historical ties binding the two brotherly people in Syria and Egypt, stressing the importance of developing the economic relations between the two countries.
\nAl-Moallem described the Syrian government\u2019s decision on holding the 59th edition of Damascus International Fair as an \u201cevidence of the strength and recovery\u201d of the Syrian state.
\nThe Minister reiterated that the level and volume of the Egyptian participation in the Fair reflects the Egyptian side\u2019s sincere desire in enhancing relations with Syria, asserting the importance of continuing such visits and meetings for promoting prospects of cooperation between the two countries to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.<\/p>\n
Al-Moallem briefed the Egyptian delegation on the latest developments in Syria and the Syrian Arab Army\u2019s achievements towards realizing stability to the country as soon as possible, hailing the Syrian people\u2019s resilience and rallying around their leadership.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that Syria and Egypt are facing one regionally and internationally-backed common enemy, that is the Takfiri terrorism, which necessitates unifying efforts to eliminate it.<\/p>\n
For his part, Chairman of the Egyptian delegation el-Wakil expressed the delegation\u2019s pleasure to visit Syria, asserting that their visit and the volume of Egypt\u2019s participation in Damascus Fair shows a true desire to give momentum to the bilateral relations.<\/p>\n
El-Wakil appreciated Syria\u2019s steadfastness in the face of the terrorist war waged against it, renewing the Egyptian people\u2019s support for their brothers in Syria and hoping that Syria will restore security and stability as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
