Sao Paulo, SANA – Health Minister Nizar Yaziji stressed the need to further boost economic partnerships and expand cooperation between Syria and Brazil\u00a0in the health sector.<\/p>\n
On the sidelines of the 3-day World Hepatitis Summit currently held in Sao Paulo, Yaziji met head and members of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n
He underlined the expatriates’ key role in rebuilding Syria and benefiting from their expertise in different fields, noting to the wide and effective contribution of Syrian community members in the economic and social life in Brazil.<\/p>\n
Later on, the minister visited the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in Sao Paulo and discussed with the management and medical cadres means of enhancing cooperation and exchanging knowledge and expertise in addressing complicated medical cases like cancer and bone marrow transplantation.<\/p>\n
Yaziji also toured the House of Syrian \u00a0Orphans where he was briefed on the Syrian community members’ efforts to provide high level healthcare services to its residents and help them become active members and engage in social life again.<\/p>\n
The World Hepatitis Summit kicked off on Wednesday with Syria’s participation to tackle this disease which still causes more than 1.3 million deaths every year and affects more than 325 million people all over the world.<\/p>\n
