Tehran, SANA-Iran on Monday welcomed the formation of a new government in Syria, led by Premier Wael al-Halqi.<\/p>\n
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham expressed hope that following the June presidential election in Syria and formation of the new government, the country would \u201csuccessfully weather an imposed crisis in an atmosphere of rapport and national unity.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also praised Syria for its steadfastness in the face of a foreign-fuelled crisis that has \u00a0gripped the country for over three years.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith people\u2019s support and steadfastness as well as the solidarity between the army and the people, Syria could withstand the terrorist invasion that was sponsored by certain foreign countries during more than three years of crisis in that country,\u201d Afkham added.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Sunday, a new government was sworn in before President Bashar al-Assad who provided the ministers with his instructions, wishing them success in their missions.<\/p>\n
