{"id":118126,"date":"2017-11-14T13:39:39","date_gmt":"2017-11-14T11:39:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/?p=118126"},"modified":"2017-11-14T18:33:57","modified_gmt":"2017-11-14T16:33:57","slug":"artist-fida-mansour-is-climbing-the-ladder-to-fame-with-his-latest-mural","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=118126","title":{"rendered":"Artist Fida Mansour is climbing the ladder to fame with his latest mural"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 Muralist, Fida Mansour, is known for painting his most recent piece, the 50 m long and 2 m high mural featuring the historic Syrian-Chinese relations for thousands of years.<\/p>\n<p>Interviewed by SANA Cultural Bulletin, Mansour said that it took him 20 days to finish this masterpiece after gaining the approval of the Chinese Embassy, adding that &#8220;It depicts the Silk Road that bound the two friendly countries through the trade convoys of the ancient Palmyra civilization, so I started with the Great Wall of China and ended with the Bride of the Desert.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/3-14.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-118128\" src=\"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/3-14-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mansour recalled his beginnings and previous attempts on the walls of schools and Kindergartens, indicating that he uses oil paint of different colors and other high-quality materials to resist the effect of aging oil paint due to the fluctuation in outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed the importance of taking art to people in streets which help reach a much broader audience than traditional artwork and galleries normally allow, not to mention the aesthetic value it added.<\/p>\n<p>Artist Mansour underlined the development of plastic art in Syria despite the current crisis, adding that artists&#8217; duty is to reflect reality and contribute to the improvement of their society.<\/p>\n<p>On his future projects, Mansour said that he is preparing for a solo art exhibition, in <a href=\"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/5-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-118129\" src=\"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/5-8-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a>addition to receiving several invitations by different institutions and embassies to repeat this new experience.<\/p>\n<p>Fida Mansour was born in Jableh, Lattakia. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus in 1999 and pursued higher studies until 2001.
