Beirut, SANA \u2013 The national team for Kyokushinkai karate on Tuesday won three medals, two silvers\u00a0and a bronze, within the 9th Arab Championship held in Beirut, Lebanon, with the participation of\u00a0159 athletes from Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Tunis, Egypt, UAE, Libya, and Syria.<\/p>\n
The two silver medals were won by Khuder al-Salem and Mohammed Joumaa in the 55 kg and 65 kg\u00a0categories respectively, while Lama al-Housami won the bronze for women under 65 kg.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the junior participant Khudr al-Salem was honored as the best athlete of the competition\u00a0due to his exceptional performance during the matches.<\/p>\n
The championship witnessed outstanding sporting achievements, especially from the Iraqi national\u00a0team of 32 athletes and the Lebanese national team of 60 athletes, Head of Karate Federation\u00a0Jihad Maya said in a statement to SANA.<\/p>\n
He added that our national team ranked fourth after Lebanon, Iraq and Tunisia.<\/p>\n
The national team consists of the coach and the administrative manager Hazem Marddini as well\u00a0as the 8 athletes: Moutasem Billah Shaaban, Kuder al-Salem, Mohammed Joumaa, Zayed al-Ahamd,\u00a0Ahmad Batoush, Mohammad Fikri, Mohammad Omar and Lama Housami.<\/p>\n
It is worth mentioning that our national team won three medals; gold, silver and bronze in the\u00a0previous iteration of the championship.<\/p>\n
