{"id":12042,"date":"2014-09-03T22:25:34","date_gmt":"2014-09-03T19:25:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=12042"},"modified":"2014-09-22T11:51:14","modified_gmt":"2014-09-22T08:51:14","slug":"russia-marks-knowledge-daysyrias-ambassador-dialogue-superseded-by-culture-of-violence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=12042","title":{"rendered":"Russia marks Knowledge Day\u2026Syria&#8217;s ambassador: Dialogue superseded by culture of violence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Moscow, SANA-The Russian St. Petersburg University of Humanities commemorated Wednesday the Knowledge Day, with the participation of Russian and foreign parliamentarians, diplomats, scientists and artists.<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge Day, often simply called 1 of September, is the day when the school year traditionally starts in Russia and many other former Soviet republics.<\/p>\n<p>Figures who attended the festivity stressed the importance of science, culture and knowledge in an age of scientific and technological progress that is taking the world by storm.<\/p>\n<p>They indicated that the current clashes, military confrontations, killings and breach of human values are &#8220;symptoms of the lack of knowledge that some suffer from.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12044 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/\u0631\u0648\u0633\u064a\u0627-2-300x159.jpg\" alt=\"\u0631\u0648\u0633\u064a\u0627 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"159\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/\u0631\u0648\u0633\u064a\u0627-2-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/\u0631\u0648\u0633\u064a\u0627-2-150x79.jpg 150w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/\u0631\u0648\u0633\u064a\u0627-2.jpg 381w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Addressing an audience of university professors and students, Syria&#8217;s ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad, who attended the festivity, said: &#8220;Today, we are here in this city; the capital of human culture, celebrating the day of knowledge that should garner an international consensus if we want our world free of clashes and bloodshed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As he underscored the importance of the new college inaugurated at the Russian university, which teaches international crises-solving, Haddad pointed to the Syrian government&#8217;s decision to teach the Russian language at Syrian universities and schools.<\/p>\n<p>The ambassador bemoaned the current stage which &#8220;is bereft of dialogue that was superseded by a culture of power, violence and attempts to annul the sovereignty of nations under numerous pretexts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12045 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/\u062d\u062f\u0627\u062f-300x159.jpg\" alt=\"\u062d\u062f\u0627\u062f\" width=\"300\" height=\"159\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/\u062d\u062f\u0627\u062f-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/\u062d\u062f\u0627\u062f-150x79.jpg 150w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/\u062d\u062f\u0627\u062f.jpg 381w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Haddad pointed to an American strategy that has focused since 1980s on a key strategic goal that the US had set which is, he said, &#8220;for the 21st century to be an American par excellence&#8221; whose prime manifestations have been a policy of double standards, bullying nations and reserving the right to fight terrorism on its territories while backing it elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Manal Ismael<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Moscow, SANA-The Russian St. Petersburg University of Humanities commemorated Wednesday the Knowledge Day, with the participation of Russian and foreign parliamentarians, diplomats, scientists and artists.
