Lattakia, SANA- Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Bader-Eddin Hassoun stressed on Sunday that Syria and al-Quds city are facing common enemies who failed to partition Syria, thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army, asserting that they will also fail in partitioning al-Quds city.<\/p>\n
In a symposium binding him with Patriarch Ignatius Ephrem II, of Antioch and All the East at Dar al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia, Hassoun said that the US President\u2019s recognition of al-Quds as capital of the Israeli entity only serves US personal and political interests, asserting that this would not change the reality of al-Quds which is a Palestinian city.<\/p>\n
For his part, Patriarch Ephrem II reiterated that the US decision on al-Quds came to serve narrow political interests, but not the interests of peoples, asserting that this decision contradicts with the historical facts and the internationallegtimacy which affirms that al-Quds is an occupied Palestinian city.<\/p>\n
Participants in the symposium stressed that the Zionist schemes regarding occupied al-Quds will fail, asserting the need for raising pan-Arab awareness and liberal ideology at society.<\/p>\n
