Damascus, SANA The delivery of humanitarian aid continued in Yarmouk Camp, a neighborhood in southern Damascus that has been besieged by terrorist groups since late 2012, with 645 more food packages were distributed to the residents during the past two days.<\/p>\n
The distribution of aid was carried out by the\u00a0General Administration for Palestine Arab Refugees\u00a0(GAPAR) and the United Nations Relief and Works<\/p>\n
Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East\u00a0(UNRWA), with full support provided by the Syrian\u00a0government and under the supervision of the Higher\u00a0Committee for Relief.<\/p>\n
GAPAR Director Ali Mustafa told SANA reporter on\u00a0Saturday that two patients were evacuated from the\u00a0camp and hospitalized to Damascus hospitals,\u00a0making the total number of people evacuated for\u00a0medical reasons 4,484.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the UNRWA’s medical center\u00a0continues to provide health services and medicines\u00a0to patients who need treatment.<\/p>\n
He added that Nour Association for Relief,\u00a0Development and Progressive Youth has provided\u00a0vaccines to children.<\/p>\n
Mudtafa appreciated the Syrian government’s role
\nin supporting and helping the Palestinian people
\nin the besieged camp.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the number of the parcels\u00a0containing food and medical supplies have been\u00a0delivered in the neighborhood since January 30,\u00a02014 reached 48,590 food packages and 6,949\u00a0medical ones.<\/p>\n
