{"id":138723,"date":"2018-05-24T18:55:25","date_gmt":"2018-05-24T15:55:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/?p=138723"},"modified":"2018-05-24T19:59:29","modified_gmt":"2018-05-24T16:59:29","slug":"zenobias-lover-documentary-about-life-and-martyrdom-of-archeologist-khaled-al-asaad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=138723","title":{"rendered":"Zenobia&#8217;s Lover: Documentary about life and martyrdom of archeologist Khaled al-Asaad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 The General Organization for Cinema ended on Thursday filming a documentary named \u201cZenobia&#8217;s Lover\u201d directed by Ghassan Shamit.<\/p>\n<p>The documentary is a biography which tells the life and martyrdom of the former archaeologist of (Palmyra) Tadmur, Khaled al-Assaad, who was executed in public by Daesh terrorist organization (ISIS) on July 18, 2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/1773.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-138725 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/1773-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"253\" height=\"135\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/1773-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/1773-310x165.jpg 310w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/1773.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 253px) 100vw, 253px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The film documents al-Asaad&#8217;s achievements in the field of archaeology, research and excavation, and includes testimonies of people who met with him, including Dr Ali al-Qaym and Dr Mahmoud Hammoud, Director General for Antiquities and Museums, in addition to interviews with his family.<\/p>\n<p>The film narrates his abduction, imprisonment, and beheading in the courtyard of the National Museum in Palmyra by ISIS who tried to extract information about the whereabouts of hidden treasures of Palmyra.
