Damascus, SANA- Syria has affirmed that the US funds for and attempts to shore up the \u201cWhite Helmets\u201d organization has shamelessly exposed its relationship to a terrorist organization, contrary to its claims of fighting terrorism.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Syrian Arab Republic condemns the recent US decision to provide USD 6.6 million in financial aid to the White Helmets terrorist organization,\u201d the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Ministry added that Syria considers the US decision, which smacks of public funding for terrorism, a blatant embodiment of the support given by the US, France, UK and other countries to the multiple forms of terrorism witnessed by Syria since 2011.<\/p>\n
The Ministry continued to say that the US and some Western countries have used this organization to practice terrorism, especially chemical terrorism, in order to distort Syria’s image and prolong the war against it.<\/p>\n
It is no longer a secret that the so-called \u201cWhite Helmets\u201d is the main arm of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and that the terrorism perpetrated by this organization has killed many innocent Syrians, the statement concluded.<\/p>\n
