Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the United Nations supports the misleading media campaign regarding the \u2018White Helmets\u2019 and attempts to depict it as a humanitarian organization, which is in fact merely a tool for a hybrid propaganda war against Syria.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe noted the participation of the United Nations Office (UNO) in the evacuation of the White Helmets; the UNO confirmed their involvement in these events. The UNHCR thereby supports the disinformation campaign [in Syria. This is at the very least a big mistake,\u201dZakharova said in a press briefing on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Zakharove stressed that the reason behind the evacuation of the White Helmets terrorist members was their involvement in the disinformation campaign on the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria.<\/p>\n
The Russian diplomat said that Russia considers the participation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the return of the displaced Syrians to their home as \u2018too early\u2019, pointing out that the position of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi on ensuring certain political conditions for the return of displaced people \u201craises many questions for us\u201d.<\/p>\n
Zakharova called on the UN High Commission for Refugees to contribute to the return of the displaced Syrian people to their country without politicizing the process, indicating that the situation in Syria is moving towards stability thanks to Syrian Arab Army\u2019 successful operations against terrorism.<\/p>\n
