{"id":147958,"date":"2018-09-30T20:10:56","date_gmt":"2018-09-30T17:10:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=147958"},"modified":"2018-09-30T22:12:28","modified_gmt":"2018-09-30T19:12:28","slug":"syrian-society-for-treating-childrens-cancer-holds-musical-event-at-damascus-opera-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=147958","title":{"rendered":"Syrian Society for Treating Children\u2019s Cancer holds musical event at Damascus Opera House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 Children from the Syrian Society for Treating Children\u2019s Cancer performed in a musical event titled \u201cWe Sing for Hope\u201d at the Opera House in Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/SSTCC-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-147960\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/SSTCC-2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/SSTCC-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/SSTCC-2.jpg 660w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The event, which is part of the \u201cDose of Hope\u201d campaign launched by the Society, began with a short film showing Syrian artists joining the children from the society in artistic and musical activities, with these artists calling out to support the Society in treating and caring for 533 children with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The Association\u2019s choir which consists of 60 children, accompanied by a musical ensemble conducted by maestro Nazih Asaad, performed a number of traditional songs from the local heritage and a children\u2019s song.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, the Association presented commemorative plates to a number of artists, musicians, and journalists, as well as presenting certificates of appreciation to its volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>The event was concluded by songs from Aleppo\u2019s heritage performed by singers Ahmad Khairi and Fouad Maher.<\/p>\n<p>The Syrian Society for Treating Children\u2019s Cancer was established in Aleppo in 2012 with the goal of providing medical, social, psychological, and educational support to children with cancer.
