{"id":152898,"date":"2018-12-06T18:05:29","date_gmt":"2018-12-06T16:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/?p=152898"},"modified":"2018-12-06T18:26:41","modified_gmt":"2018-12-06T16:26:41","slug":"farewell-ceremony-for-outgoing-un-resident-coordinator-in-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=152898","title":{"rendered":"Farewell ceremony for outgoing UN Resident Coordinator in Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Ministry held a farewell ceremony for the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Syria Ali al-Zaatari who is wrapping up his diplomatic mission in Syria.<\/p>\n<p>Delivering a speech on the occasion, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad said Syria is a United Nations founding member with a desire to cooperate with the Organization as to serve the interests of the Syrian people and help end the terrorist war against the country.<\/p>\n<p>Mikdad said that al-Zaatari&#8217;s tenure had been marked with positive cooperation to address the problems that have obstructed the efforts to alleviate the crisis-induced suffering of the Syrian people, indicating that the UN achieves hoped-for results when its work is not politicized.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Zaatari, for his part, said that Syria&#8217;s relations with the United Nations are ever developing, indicating that work is underway to build these relations on solid bases.<\/p>\n<p>He also thanked the Syrian officials who had cooperated with him during his stint as ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, Dr. Mikdad awarded al-Zaatari the Foreign Ministry&#8217;s shield.<\/p>\n<p>Manal<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Ministry held a farewell ceremony for the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Syria Ali al-Zaatari who is wrapping up his diplomatic mission in Syria.
