New York, SANA-Syria’s permanent envoy to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari said that Turkey’s failure to have support of UN states to gain a non-permanent seat on Security Council rises to the level of moral scandal and indicates the failure of Turkish policy towards Syria and Iraq.<\/p>\n
“Turkey’s having 60 votes in turn for Spain’s 132 is a big relapse and a loss that rises to the level of scandal for the government of Justice and Development party, led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the bankruptcy of his policy,” al-Jaafari told Syrian TV in a phone call.<\/p>\n
He added that several envoys of the participating countries expressed their resentment of the Justice and Development party’s policy, particularly towards Syria.<\/p>\n
Turkey failed to have a non-permanent seat on UN Security Council for the coming two years; instead, Spain gained the seat with 132 votes.<\/p>\n
