{"id":16261,"date":"2014-10-28T07:42:05","date_gmt":"2014-10-28T04:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=16261"},"modified":"2023-01-08T17:00:53","modified_gmt":"2023-01-08T15:00:53","slug":"prime-minister-asserts-role-of-social-initiatives-in-charity-and-humanitarian-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=16261","title":{"rendered":"Prime Minister asserts role of social initiatives in charity and humanitarian work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi on Monday met a delegation from the &#8220;Sayyedat Souria al-Khair&#8221; civil society group headed by Jeancette Kazan.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, al-Halaqi asserted the important role played by civil society initiatives during the crisis in charity and humanitarian aid work and in dealing with the scars left behind by terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the war against Syria which employs terrorism seeks to fragment the Syrian social fabric, but the cohesion of Syria&#8217;s society with its tolerance, moderation, and openness foiled all attempts to create strife among its members.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Halaqi said that Sayyedat Souria al-Khair is a fine example of the good nature of the Syrian people and the noble qualities of Syrian women.<\/p>\n<p>For her part, Kazan appreciated the government&#8217;s support for civil society organizations and Syrian women, particularly the mothers of martyrs.<\/p>\n<p>Talks during the meeting discussed means to improve cooperation and partnership between the civil society and the government.<\/p>\n<p>Sayyedat Souria al-Khair is a volunteer women group that provides services, organizes charity efforts, and works to spread awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Hazem Sabbagh<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi on Monday met a delegation from the &#8220;Sayyedat Souria al-Khair&#8221; civil society group headed by Jeancette Kazan.
