Damascus, SANA- A holy mass was held on Sunday at the Holy Cross Church in Damascus headed by Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East John X Yazigi , and Patriarch Irinej of Serbia.<\/p>\n

Patriarch Yazigi affirmed that importance of visit of Patriarch Irinej of Serbia to show solidarity with Antiochian Cathedral and with the Syrian people.<\/p>\n

For his part, Patriarch Irinej affirmed that the Orient is the land where Christianity emerged and it can’t be imagined without the presence of Christianity in.<\/p>\n

Officials, ecclesiastical , and public figures attended the mass.<\/p>\n

Patriarch Irinej of Serbia is on a seven-day visit to Syria heading an ecclesiastical delegation , where he will hold meetings, ecclesiastical, official and popular activities in addition to visiting a number of holy places.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, a common prayer was held at Mariamite Cathedral of Damascus with the participation of Patriarch Irinej , Patriarch Yazigi, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East and Supreme Leader of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Mar Ignatius Aphrem II and Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church Joseph Absi and heads of the Christian denominations in Syria.<\/p>\n
