Damascus, SANA- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal\u00a0Mikdad received on Wednesday the new \u00a0UNDP Resident Representative in Syria Ramla Khalidi who presented her credentials to him.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mikdad welcomed the new UNDP Representative in Syria , asserting the importance of fruitful cooperation between the Syrian government and UNDP which is considered one of the first UN programs that worked in Syria.<\/p>\n

He stressed that UNDP has to focus on development issues and realize sustainable development in Syria , especially after the victories it has achieved in the war against terrorism and the restoration of security and stability to most of the Syrian territory, a step that would push the real development circle forwards.<\/p>\n

Mikdad also underlined the importance of UNDP to take into account the principle of professionalism, neutrality, independence and keeping away from \u00a0politicization in its work.<\/p>\n

Khalidi, For her part, said the UNDP will continue cooperation with the Syrian government and all the sides concerned to push development process forwards.<\/p>\n
