governmental universities for the academic year 2019-2020 according to the university calendar issued by the Higher Education Council and they will last till Feb. 20<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">About 650 thousand\u00a0 male and female university students are taking their first semester exams, according to Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Students\u2019 Affairs Riyad Taifour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Taifour told SANA in a statement that the Ministry has circulated its instructions in that regard and it has allowed a number of universities which include large numbers of students to start the exams two or three days ahead of the determined date.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dean of Literature and Human Sciences Faculty in Damascus University Dr. Fatina al-Sha\u2019al said that more than 50 thousand male and female students are taking their exams at the university.<\/p>\n<p><span
