Damascus, SANA-Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday arrived in Damascus.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival at Damascus International Airport, Lavrov was received by Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan and a number of officials at the Foreign Ministry, in addition to the Russian Ambassador in Damascus Alexander Efimov.<\/p>\n

Lavrov is accompanied by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova during his visit.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, a Russian official delegation, chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, arrived in Damascus to hold talks with Syrian officials on developing and enhancing bilateral cooperation in different domains.<\/p>\n

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem will hold a press conference with Borisov and Lavrov later today.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Russian delegation will hold bilateral and economic talks with officials in Syria on Monday with the aim of completing the discussions of the Joint Syrian-Russian Committee for Trade, Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation which held its 12th<\/sup> meeting in Moscow in December last year co-chaired by al-Moallem and Borisov.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that during the general meeting last year, the concluding protocol of the meeting was signed, in addition to signing a cooperation agreement in the domain of customs facilitations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
