Damascus, SANA- After Months of suspension due to Coronavirus pandemic, the first flight of the Syrian Arab Airlines on Thursday left from Damascus International Airport towards Cairo, carrying 130 passengers onboard, marking the\u00a0 re-opening of air traffic to and from the airport for passengers amid health measures to ensure safe air traffic.<\/p>\n

Director of Civil Aviation in Syria Bassem Mansour pointed out, in a press conference, that the return of passenger traffic will pave the way for the return of economic and trade air traffic linked to the airports.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mansour affirmed that resumption of the air movement of Aleppo, Lattakia and Qamishli airports will be done after evaluating the procedures taken at Damascus International Airport to guarantee safe takeoffs of flights.<\/p>\n

General Director of the Syrian Arab Aviation Establishment, Shifa al-Nuri , said that the airport administration took all measures, such as PCR test for detecting the Coronavirus with a validity period of 96 hours and providing sterilization devices for passengers , bags and thermometers, and putting ground marks to achieve spatial distancing and guidance panels and increasing the number of immigration and passport cadres with the opening of nine offices for the Syrian Commercial Bank .<\/p>\n
