Damascus, SANA-Minister of Higher Education Mohammad Amer al-Mardini discussed with head of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Regional office, Dr. Alaa-Eddin Alwan joint cooperation in the health sector and meeting health needs under the current circumstances.<\/p>\n
Al-Mardini pointed to the WHO efforts in answering health needs and easing the provision of badly-needed drugs.<\/p>\n
Al-Mardini gave a review of the situation of university hospitals and the damage caused to them due to terror attacks on infrastructure, vowing that health and educational services won’t stop at university hospitals.<\/p>\n
Dr. al-Alwan, for his part, underlined the international organization’s intent on supporting university hospitals to provide health and educational services and ease the access of medical services to those in need.<\/p>\n
The two sides agreed to outline a work plan for cooperation in medical education by organizing medical courses in building capacities for medical and nursing cadres.<\/p>\n
