{"id":21636,"date":"2014-12-14T16:27:01","date_gmt":"2014-12-14T14:27:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=21636"},"modified":"2014-12-14T18:58:01","modified_gmt":"2014-12-14T16:58:01","slug":"new-penalties-imposed-for-unlicensed-medical-advertising","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=21636","title":{"rendered":"New penalties imposed for unlicensed medical advertising"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 President Bashar al-Assad issued on Sunday Law no. 32 amending Article 8 of Law no. 7 for 2005 that is related to the system of the scientific offices for medical advertising.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment stipulates for imposing an imprisonment sentence of 3 months to two years and a fine of SYP 100,000 to 300,000 on individuals who practice medical advertising without getting prior permission to open an advertising office for the purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Unlicensed medical advertising offices will have to be closed and the contents confiscated until having their status settled.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to SANA, Health Minister Nizar Yazigi said that this amendment will help curb negative practices that some may pursue to make personal gains at the expense of citizens&#8217; health, and that it&#8217;s in line with the Ministry&#8217;s policy of transparency in dealing with health issues.<\/p>\n<p>Haifa Said \/ Hazem Sabbagh<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 President Bashar al-Assad issued on Sunday Law no. 32 amending Article 8 of Law no. 7 for 2005 that is related to the system of the scientific offices for medical advertising.
