{"id":225411,"date":"2021-03-08T16:50:56","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T14:50:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/107.6.182.27\/en\/?p=225411"},"modified":"2021-03-08T21:03:07","modified_gmt":"2021-03-08T19:03:07","slug":"damascus-university-embassy-of-venezuela-commemorate-chavez-demise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=225411","title":{"rendered":"Damascus University, Embassy of Venezuela commemorate Chavez demise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-225415 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/107.6.182.27\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/1-57.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Damascus, SANA- Damascus University and the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela commemorated on Monday the eighth anniversary of the demise of late Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez, as a monument was inaugurated for him inside the campus and a wreath of flowers was put on it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Later, the two sides opened a painting exhibition hosted by the Faculty of Fine Arts within the first national painting competition under the title \u201cHugo Chavez,\u201d that included about 25 paintings, and 7 participants were honoured.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Venezuelan Ambassador, Jose Biomorgi, said in a speech that the aim of the event was to acknowledge the contributions of late Chavez and his support for just causes, particularly the Syrian cause which presented to the world a lesson about resistance and struggle in the war against terrorism.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-225417 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/107.6.182.27\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/2-38.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a press statement to journalists, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Bassam Ibrahim, hailed Chavez\u2019s stances, particularly towards Syria, pointing out to the deeply-rooted and friendly relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this context, Damascus University has named a garden inside the campus after President Chavez on April 17th, 2014 in appreciation for his patriotic history.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">English Bulletin<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA- Damascus University and the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela commemorated on Monday the eighth anniversary of the demise of late Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez, as a monument was inaugurated for him inside the campus and a wreath of flowers was put on it.
