Baghdad, SANA- Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Bassam Touma, discussed with Iraqi Minister of Oil Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, means of boosting\u00a0 joint cooperation between Syria and Iraq in the fields\u00a0 of oil, energy, training and the exchange of experiences.<\/p>\n
The two sides,\u00a0 during a session of talks in\u00a0 Baghdad,\u00a0 stressed the deeply – rooted\u00a0 and\u00a0 historic relations between Syria and Iraq and the need for\u00a0 promoting\u00a0 and developing\u00a0 them in\u00a0 all domains.<\/p>\n
They also tackled\u00a0\u00a0 a set of ideas and visions that would develop oil cooperation, exchange experiences and develop brotherly relations in all fields for benefit of the\u00a0 two brotherly peoples.<\/p>\n
In a statement to SANA correspondent in Baghdad, Minister Touma said\u00a0 that the first session of talks witnessed a discussion about a\u00a0 number of ideas, visions and projects that serve the progress\u00a0 of the oil industry in the two countries,\u00a0 indicating the strategic importance of Syria\u2019s position\u00a0 in the\u00a0 field of oil trade.<\/p>\n
In turn, the Iraqi minister expressed, in a similar statement, Iraq’s keenness to strengthen its relations with neighboring countries and the Arab region in all fields, especially the oil, gas and energy sectors, in a way that serves common interests.<\/p>\n
