{"id":231492,"date":"2021-05-01T21:22:25","date_gmt":"2021-05-01T18:22:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/107.6.182.27\/en\/?p=231492"},"modified":"2021-05-02T15:12:58","modified_gmt":"2021-05-02T12:12:58","slug":"un-photo-exhibition-selects-two-syrians-safaa-nawfal-and-ruba-zarqa-on-international-workers-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=231492","title":{"rendered":"UN photo exhibition selects two Syrians, Safaa Nawfal and Ruba Zarqa, on International Workers&#8217; Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Geneva, SANA-On the occasion of the International Workers&#8217; Day, the United Nations Office at Geneva organized virtual photo exhibition entitled \u201cNot a Woman\u2019s Job?\u201d, for which it chose several working women in order to recognize and support them, among them two Syrians, engineer Safaa Nawfal and the International football referee, Ruba Zarqa, as a model of the Syrian working women who work with men in the hardest professions which are exclusive to men.<\/p>\n<p>The office posted on its Facebook page a photo for Nawfal while she was repairing the electrical grid lines, saying that \u201cSafaa, a graduate of the College of Electrical Engineering , who works at the General Electricity Company of Homs, despite the difficulty and danger of working in this\u00a0 field, she insists on repairing the electrical grid lines devastated by the war .<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In her conversation , Safaa emphasizes the ability and productivity of the Syrian woman in various fields, despite the traditional views\u00a0 about professions which are exclusive to men&#8221;, the office added.<a href=\"http:\/\/107.6.182.27\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Ruba.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-231494 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/107.6.182.27\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Ruba-300x191.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Ruba-300x191.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Ruba.jpg 660w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The office also posted a photo of the Syrian International Football Referee, Ruba Zarqa, saying \u201cThis is the first Asian woman who got two international badges in soccer and futsal. she was a member of women\u2019s national football team and became a referee later.
