Damascus, SANA-Caretaker Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faysal Mikdad, met on Thursday with Jalalzada, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee at the Iranian Shura council , and an accompanying delegation.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and means of developing and boosting them in various fields in a way that enhances the two countries\u2019 capabilities to face challenges.<\/p>\n

Mikdad referred to the Syrians\u2019 pride in the important role played by the friendly country of Iran as the leadership, government, representatives and people in supporting Syria\u2019s resistance and enhancing its capabilities in the face of the terrorist war that was imposed on it, affirming \u00a0that Syrian-Iranian relations have become a role model in all fields.<\/p>\n

Minister Mikdad reiterated Syria’s support for Iran in the face of all attempts to undermine its achievements since the victory of the Islamic Iranian Revolution, expressing the Syrians\u2019 confidence in Iran\u2019s ability to overcome the imposed difficulties economically, as well as supporting its stances and policies regarding the nuclear file.<\/p>\n

For his part, Zada stressed that relations between Syria and Iran date back to years before the war on Syria, and that these relations have always been based on cooperation, coordination and exchanged support on various domains.<\/p>\n

\u00a0He added that the exchange of visits and coordination between the Shura Council and the People’s Assembly has a major role in boosting this cooperation and promoting the level of relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0In a press statement following the meeting\u00a0 with Mikdad, Zada described the meetings with the Syrian officials as constructive that aim to promote relations forwards, expand economic and trade cooperation, contribute to rebuilding \u00a0and activating agreements between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u00a0He described as \u201cdeep and historic\u201d the relations between Syria and Iran, referring to the need for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the interests of the two peoples.<\/p>\n
