{"id":25061,"date":"2015-01-14T10:39:05","date_gmt":"2015-01-14T08:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=25061"},"modified":"2015-01-14T10:39:05","modified_gmt":"2015-01-14T08:39:05","slug":"armenian-ambassador-spotlights-ottomans-massacres-against-armenians-in-a-new-book","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=25061","title":{"rendered":"Armenian Ambassador spotlights Ottomans&#8217; massacres against Armenians in a new book"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 The genocide of the Armenians who perished at the hands of the Ottoman Turks has been spotlighted in a new book released recently by Armenia&#8217;s Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladian.<\/p>\n<p>The book titled &#8220;Eyewitnesses on Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire&#8221; includes precise documents featuring the horrible atrocities which the Ottomans committed against a million and a half Armenians in late 19th century and early 20th century.<\/p>\n<p>Accounts of some of the brutal crimes committed back then were detailed in the book, with the writer also using the opportunity to shed light on the demeanor of today&#8217;s Turkish government of the ruling Justice and Development Party which proclaims itself as the heir to the Ottoman Empire.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling party has even gone too far to declare itself as representing the &#8220;Neo-Ottomans&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Poladian highlighted in his book, issued by al-Sharq Publishing House in Damascus, the crimes of banishment, killing, burning of houses, pillage, rape and humiliation against the Armenians, citing heart-wrenching stories of pain, grief and sadness.<\/p>\n<p>Haifa Said<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 The genocide of the Armenians who perished at the hands of the Ottoman Turks has been spotlighted in a new book released recently by Armenia&#8217;s Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladian.
