Daraa, SANA- competent authorities, in cooperation with locals in Daraa city, seized quantities of medium and light weapons, various ammunitions and communication devices in several areas of the province.<\/p>\n

A source told SANA reporter that after the settlement process that included Daraa province and return of stability and security, a large number of people took the initiative to hand over weapons and equipment they had to the Syrian Arab Army.<\/p>\n

In a relevant context, the source added that the competent authorities and units of the army carried out raid campaigns on a number of houses and farms in the countryside of the province, based on accurate information, and confiscated quantities of weapons and ammunition from them.<\/p>\n

The source said that among the seized weapons were PKC machine guns, a large number of automatic rifles, RPGs, snipers, DShK bullets, a 14.5 mm machine gun, a 122 mm mortar, with shells, grenades, communication devices, a small reconnaissance plane, explosive devices, and anti-armor mines.<\/p>\n
