Damascus, SANA – A national volunteer initiative aimed at planting a million seedlings all across the provinces was launched Thursday under the title \u201cWe can make it green once again\u201d.<\/p>\n

A total of 3, 500 pine seedlings were planted in al-Sabboura area in Damascus Countryside starting the campaign, which was launched by the Revolutionary Youth Union (RYU) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.<\/p>\n

The campaign aims at expanding green areas, benefiting from the amount of rainfall witnessed in the past days, and promoting the need of protecting the vegetation cover and environment.<\/p>\n

15,000 young men and women will participate in the campaign, which will run through the end of March.<\/p>\n
