Hama, SANA-The Norias Department\u00a0in\u00a0Hama\u00a0City Council\u00a0started the restoration and rehabilitation works of the Four Norias of Bechriyyat located on the Orontes\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The diameter of the Bechriyyat Noria reached 16 meters.<\/p>\n

Director of Norias Department Mohammad Sabaa al-Arab told SANA report in a statement that the restoration and rehabilitation works are carried out by a specialized workshop and include designing and implementing of wooden models instead of the damaged pieces.<\/p>\n

He noted that Bechriyyat waterwheel is considered as the third largest waterwheel in the province that is still existed for thousands of years<\/p>\n

The director added that the department plans to maintain and rehabilitate most of the Norias for this year.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

For his part, head of maintenance workshop, Ghazwan Al-Saqqa, noted to the difficulty in securing maintenance materials, in addition to the need for new young trained workers as they are the most capable to complete the maintenance works optimally.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that the Department in Hama had restored and maintained four waterwheels over the past year<\/p>\n
