Damascus, SANA \u2013An exhibition showcasing handicraft, home-made and heritage products opened Thursday evening at Khan Asaad Basha, the largest khan in Damascus that has been described by many as a remarkable work of architecture.<\/p>\n
“Syrian women withstanding crises” is the title under which the exhibition is being held, organized by Business Women Committee at the Syrian Exporters Union.<\/p>\n
The exhibition is regarded as specially important by various economic and business figures and bodies as it provides a chance to market and promote the Syrian products after the ongoing crisis in the country has taken a severe
\ntoll on all sectors, negatively affecting micro, small and medium-sized practitioners.<\/p>\n
Samer Khalil, the Director General of General Establishment for International Expos and Markets, spoke to SANA of the particular importance of hand-made products, stressing that the exhibition aims at opening up new markets for
\nsuch products on the local level and attracting foreign markets for exportation.<\/p>\n
He indicated a “real” tendency on the part of the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade “to help those ladies to sell their products abroad, which would bring in more foreign currency.”<\/p>\n
