Homs, SANA- Students and staff of al-Baath University in Homs, staged on Tuesday a solidarity stand in support for Russia and its people against the US-Western policies aimed at undermining its security and stability.<\/p>\n

Participants in the stand raised the Syrian and Russian national flags and chanted victory for the two countries over terrorism and Nazism.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u2018Today’s stand is an expression of our amity for the Russian people and standing by them against everything that threatens its national security,\u2019 Rector of the University, Dr. Abdel Basset Al-Khatib said.<\/p>\n

In a speech during the stand, Head of the Russian community in Syria, Anastasia Koleskina, highlighted the depth of relations binding the two countries.<\/p>\n

Koleskina expressed her thanks and appreciation to Syria for standing by Russia and supporting it, just as Russia stood by Syria in the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n
