Damascus, SANA Syria and Belarus discussed the\u00a0establishment of joint truck and bus manufacturing\u00a0plant in Syria and the implementation of other\u00a0industrial investment projects to manufacture\u00a0pharmaceutical and hollow glass and electrical\u00a0equipment and appliances.<\/p>\n
During a meeting which brought together Minister\u00a0of Industry Kamal-Eddin Touma, Minister of Economy\u00a0and Foreign Trade Humam al-Jazaeri and Deputy\u00a0Chairman of the Syrian-Belarusian Joint Business\u00a0Council, Inayatullah Hassoun, the attendants\u00a0reviewed prospects of future trade, industrial and\u00a0economic cooperation between the two countries\u00a0that will be tackled in the 6th session of Syrian-Belarus joint committee due to be held by the end\u00a0of March 2015 in Minsk.<\/p>\n
Minister al-Jazaeri called for increasing the\u00a0volume of intra-trade between the two countries\u00a0and benefiting from the Belarusian technical\u00a0development to enhance the capabilities and\u00a0competitiveness of Syrian companies.<\/p>\n
Hassoun underlined the Council’s efforts to open\u00a0Belarusian markets for Syrian products in a way\u00a0that serves both sides and contributes to\u00a0increasing the volume of national industrial\u00a0exports.<\/p>\n
The two sides discussed raising bilateral trade\u00a0volume to USD 1 billion and the possibility of\u00a0importing necessary medicine, particularly cancer\u00a0drugs, from Belarus since their prices are lower\u00a0in comparison to European countries.<\/p>\n
