Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, discussed on Thursday with Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, bilateral relations and issues of common concern.<\/p>\n
The two sides discussed, in a telephone call, meetings of the joint higher economic committee, appreciating resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of the criminal Israeli attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque, stressing support of Syria and Iran for the Palestinians.<\/p>\n
Minister Mikdad said that relations between Syria and Iran are always moving forward towards further development, referring to the necessity of activating Syrian-Iranian economic cooperation to overcome the impacts of the illegitimate Western coercive economic measures imposed on the peoples of the two countries.<\/p>\n
Mikdad described relations between Tehran and Damascus as historic, strategic and important in the interests of the two propels.<\/p>\n
He expressed Syria\u2019s support for the Iranian stance on the nuclear file, holding the US responsible for not signing the agreement so far.<\/p>\n
For his part, Abdullahian described relations between Syria and Iran as strategic and deeply- rooted, expressing his country\u2019s aspiration to work with the Syrian side in order to boost \u00a0cooperation between the two countries in all fields.<\/p>\n
Abdullahian pointed out the importance of seeking to reach a genuine economic and trade partnership, affirming his country’s support for Syria and its people and its readiness to provide the necessary assistance to overcome the negative effects of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by Western countries.<\/p>\n
