Moscow, SANA-The International Economic Summit \u201cRussia and the Islamic World\u201d started its activities on Thursday in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan with the participation of Syria<\/p>\n
President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, said in a speech during the opening ceremony that the summit proved to be successful in establishing new communication relations and providing economic opportunities and investment possibilities, pointing out the importance of this event as a main platform for economic interaction between Russia and countries of the Islamic world.<\/p>\n
For his part, Syria\u2019s Ambassador to Moscow, Riyad Haddad, said that the West stands behind the deliberate distortion of the Islamic religion through its support for Takfiri terrorism, adding \u201cWe in Syria realized since long time the danger of US hegemony on the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for the special military operation to protect Donbass , Haddad said that Russia is fighting its battle to defend the people of Donbass, to defeat the danger of Nazism in Europe, and to stop Western arrogance which provided only the worst model of killing and occupation of countries, stealing their resources and distorting cultures and religions.<\/p>\n
He hoped that Russia would come out victorious in that battle.<\/p>\n
