Damascus, SANA – President Bashar al-Assad received Tuesday Catholicos Aram I Kechichian, pastor of the Armenian Church, in the Great House of Cilicia, and his accompanying delegation.<\/p>\n

President al-Assad said that homogeneity\u00a0 in full entity\u00a0 despite the difference\u00a0 in\u00a0 spectrum and religion\u00a0 is the\u00a0 most important characteristics of the Syrian people .<\/p>\n

The president added that this homogeneity does not mean dissolution, but rather the preservation of all components\u00a0 of\u00a0 the identity\u00a0 of\u00a0 the Syrians which boosts their\u00a0 \u00a0national unity and belonging to this land on which they\u00a0 have existed in\u00a0 for thousands years.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Catholicos Kechichian and the accompanying delegation\u00a0 noted \u00a0that the war against Syria, whether through terrorism or the economic blockade, aims to break the unique model that it represents with all its components and spectra and to force Syrian people to emigrate and leave their original homeland, and stressed that the Syrian-Armenians will remain committed to their country and exert their full efforts\u00a0 along with the rest of Syrians in order to overcome the impacts of this war.<\/p>\n
