Cairo, SANA- There is no alternative to the political solution to the crisis in Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Egyptian al-Ahram Newspaper on the eve of his official visit to Egypt.<\/p>\n
President Putin indicated that the reason behind what is currently taking place in Iraq and Syria is the outrageous foreign interference, the double standards and dividing terrorists into good and bad.<\/p>\n
He reiterated his country\u2019s support to Syria\u2019s sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n
Putin said that the steps taken by the countries which participate in the \u201ccollation to fight terrorism\u201d are not up to the danger of terrorism which cannot be combated only through airstrikes.<\/p>\n
Last November, Putin stressed in a press interview that Russia will continue to support and help Syria, Iraq and other regional countries in countering terrorism.<\/p>\n
He affirmed that fighting terrorism should be according to the UN Security Council resolutions and the international law, particularly the principles of respecting states\u2019 sovereignty and non-interference in their internal affairs.<\/p>\n
