Damascus, SANA Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and\u00a0Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem stressed\u00a0that Israeli occupation’s attempt to create a\u00a0security belt in the occupied Syrian Golan is\u00a0doomed to failure thanks to the Syrian Arab army\u00a0and the popular resistance as this attempt was\u00a0foiled in south of Lebanon thanks to the Lebanese
\nnational resistance.<\/p>\n
In an interview with al-Alam TV on Monday evening,\u00a0al-Moallem described the Israeli policy as short-sighted, asserting that the Syrian Army and the\u00a0popular resistance are exerting huge military
\nefforts in confronting “Jabhat al-Nusra”\u00a0terrorists, other terrorists and Israeli schemes.<\/p>\n
“Israel stands behind all what is going on, as its\u00a0War Minister Moshe Ya’alon has admitted\u00a0cooperation with Jabhat al-Nusra and offering
\nlogistic and military services to it,” Minister\u00a0Moallem added, asserting that the Islamic State in\u00a0Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization is\u00a0not an enemy to Israel.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that what Syria is undergoing is a\u00a0“war” and an international conspiracy led by the\u00a0US and followed by EU countries, some regional\u00a0countries like Turkey and some Gulf countries,
\nasserting that this conspiracy is targeting\u00a0Syria’s resistant stance.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Minister underlined that Geneva 1 and\u00a0Geneva 2 conferences were not an intra-Syrian\u00a0dialogue, but a dialogue between the Syrian\u00a0government delegation and more than 35 countries\u00a0through the so-called (the Coalition) delegation\u00a0which was unable to accept or reject any decision\u00a0unless consulting with these countries.<\/p>\n
The problem with the UN envoys to Syria is their\u00a0inability to convince the countries supporting\u00a0terrorism, like Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Jordan,\u00a0to stop their support in addition to non-
\ncommitment of the US and its allies to the UN\u00a0Resolutions No. 2170 and 2178 on combating\u00a0terrorism, al-Moallem went on to say.<\/p>\n
” We don’t need any one to bring its ground\u00a0forces to fight the ISIS as we have the Syrian\u00a0Arab Army and popular defense units who are
\nperforming this task and we have resilient\u00a0people, “he said, adding that what is required\u00a0from the international community is to really dry\u00a0up terrorism resources and compel Jordan and\u00a0Turkey to control their borders.<\/p>\n
He reiterated that Turkey constitutes a strategic\u00a0depth for the ISIS, a market for selling its\u00a0stolen goods and a shelter for treating its
\ninjured terrorists, therefore Turkey can’t join\u00a0Washington’s ally for combating terrorism.<\/p>\n
The Minister pointed that Jordan, due to its\u00a0economic conditions, joined anti-Syria Saudi-Gulf\u00a0scheme where it will get a financial support on\u00a0one hand, and satisfy the United States and\u00a0Israel on the other hand.<\/p>\n
“The relations with Saudi Arabia are severed from\u00a0their side ,” al-Moallem said, asserting that\u00a0Saudi Arabia’s support to the terrorists in Syria\u00a0is crystal clear.<\/p>\n
He accused some Lebanese parties of conspiring\u00a0against Syria, hailing the resistant stance of the\u00a0Lebanese Hezbollah Party.<\/p>\n
Our decision in Syria is that we welcome whoever\u00a0extends his hand to us and who doesn’t, we will\u00a0turn our back to him.”<\/p>\n
Al-Moallem emphasized that Syria’s ties with Iran\u00a0and Russia are “strategic, asserting the\u00a0continued consultations among the three countries\u00a0on various issues.<\/p>\n
