Cairo, SANA \u2013 Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed the need to increase international efforts to combat terrorism and to work towards a political solution for the crisis in Syria.<\/p>\n
In a joint press conference on Tuesday, el-Sisi said that the two sides agreed that they stand together in the face of terrorism which poses a threat to the entire world, and that they affirmed the need to unite international efforts to combat terrorism comprehensively in a manner not limited to security operations, but also encompasses dealing with the causes of terrorism.<\/p>\n
El-Sisi also voiced satisfaction over the ongoing Russian-Egyptian coordination on providing a suitable environment for Syrian sides to meet and discuss matters in order to reach agreements that would form the basis for a political solution based on the Geneva communiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n
In turn, Putin said that he and el-Sisi discussed the situation in the regional and some international issues, agreeing to increase counterterrorism efforts and giving significant attention to issues related to resolving the crisis in Syria.<\/p>\n
The Russian President said he informed el-Sisi about the results of the recent inter-Syrian meeting held in Moscow, adding that Russia has high hopes for holding a second meeting like it.<\/p>\n
The two Presidents also discussed issues related to Palestine, Libya, Yemen, and Russian-Egyptian relations in the fields of politics, economy, military cooperation, and energy.<\/p>\n
