Moscow, SANA-The head of Russia\u2019s Investigative Committee, Aleksey Bastrykin, has ordered a criminal case launched over the persecution of former President Dmitry Medvedev by Ukraine\u2019s Security Services (SBU).<\/p>\n
The order was shared on Monday on the committee\u2019s official Telegram channel with an announcement that a case would be opened against SBU officials over the \u201cunlawful persecution of Deputy Chairman of Russia\u2019s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Monday, the SBU confirmed that Medvedev had been added to its wanted list in March. In his case file on the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs website, the ex-Russian leader is branded a \u201cfugitive from pre-trial investigations\u201d and his date of \u201cdisappearance\u201d listed as March 1.<\/p>\n
The SBU database also issued warrants in March for Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, who is charged with \u201cencroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine which led to the death of people or other serious consequences.\u201d Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov and hundreds of other Russian officials, including MPs, are also on the list.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Monday, Medvedev claimed on his Telegram channel that the current \u201cNazi political regime\u201d in Kiev will present a \u201cconstant, direct and clear threat to Russia,\u201d and called for the \u201ccomplete dismantling\u201d of the \u201cpolitical regime\u201d in Kiev in order to protect Russia\u2019s people and borders.<\/p>\n
His message came after Russia launched a series of missile strikes across Ukraine, targeting key infrastructure in response to the October 8 attack on the Crimean Bridge, which Moscow claims was a terrorist attack carried out by the SBU.<\/p>\n
Medvedev commented on Monday\u2019s strikes, claiming they were just the \u201cfirst episode\u201d and that \u201cthere will be others.\u201d<\/p>\n
