Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad received a delegation comprising a number of leaders and representatives of the Palestinian forces and factions as talks dealt with the outcomes of the reconciliation discussions held among the Palestinian factions in Algeria over the past days, in addition to means of enhancing these reconciliations to keep pace with the rising popular situation against the Israeli occupation and its continued crimes in the Palestinian territories.<\/p>\n

President al-Assad considered that the importance of Algeria Reconciliation Talks stems from its results represented by Palestinians\u2019 unity which is the basis of work in serving the Palestinian Cause, underscoring that the unity of the Palestinian rank is the basis of its strength in confronting the occupation and restoring rights.<\/p>\n

The President went on to say that all attempts aimed at cancelling this Cause from the conscience of the new generations in the Arab region have never succeeded and will never succeed and what is happening across all the Palestinian lands proves that theses generations are still committed to their Palestinian identity.<\/p>\n

President al-Assad affirmed that Syria has been determined\u00a0 to support the resistance despite the war waged on it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is based on the Syrian people\u2019s principles and firm belief in the resistance from one hand, and out of the interest on the other hand which requires to be with the resistance,” the President said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe resistance is not a point of view, but rather a principle and basis for restoring rights, and Syria as it has always been known before the war and after it, will remain in support of the resistance.\u201d President al-Assad added.<\/p>\n

The delegation members, for their part, asserted that Syria is a cornerstone and represents the knot that holds the axis of resistance and all of the Palestinian people ,affirming that Palestinian factions value Syria\u2019s role, importance and sacrifices .<\/p>\n

They also consider Syria as Palestine\u2019s strategic depth, thus all of the Palestinian factions and political parties stand side by side with Syria in confronting the international aggression and U.S. and Zionist project.<\/p>\n
