Damascus, SANA- A number of heads of Parliament and delegations participating in Conference of Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, arrived at Damascus International Airport to confirm support to Syria and standing by its people.<\/p>\n

Head of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, Speaker of Iraqi Parliament, Mohammed Al-Halbousi told Journalists in a statement at Damascus Airport that the delegation represents the Inter-Parliamentary Union which was being held in Baghdad to confirm support to Syria and stand by its people in the plight caused by the earthquake.<\/p>\n

Al-Halbousi added that the Arab stance supports the return of Syria to its Arab surroundings and that Syria, the Arab brotherly country, practice its role on all levels on the regional and international arenas.<\/p>\n

For his part, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives, Dr. Hanafy Ali Gebaly stressed, in a similar statement, the Arab Parliaments support to Syria and standing by its people, noting that Syria will return to its normal position in the Arab League and that this visit aims at confirming support to Syrian leadership, government and people.<\/p>\n

\u201cwe are now here in Syria to support it and to show solidarity with it in confronting earthquake disaster,\u201d Dr. Gebaly \u00a0said.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Dr. Gebaly added \u201cWe are brothers and we stand by the Syrians during these difficult circumstances, as our visit to Syria in order to support its people\u201d, adding that other Arab parliamentary delegations will respectively arrive in Damascus.<\/p>\n

The 34th<\/sup>\u00a0Conference of Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Baghdad recently had taken a decision on the formation of a delegation to visit Syria to confirm standing by it.<\/p>\n

For his part, Speaker of the People\u2019s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, said that the atmospheres of the Arab Parliamentary Union conference in Baghdad were \u2018very positive\u2019, as the conference concentrated on the unified stance of all Arab countries towards the necessity of Syria\u2019s return to the Arab surroundings.<\/p>\n

The Conference also decided the formation of a high-level delegation of the parliaments\u2019 heads to visit Syria to confirm that it is the heart of joint Arab action.<\/p>\n

He also expressed Syria\u2019s thanks to all the delegations arrived in Damascus.<\/p>\n
