Damascus, SANA-The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Mohamed Hassan Qatana, discussed with a delegation from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) the development of cooperation relations in the next stage and the mechanism of scientific and technical intervention to develop the agricultural sector and support producers.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Minister Qatana stressed the importance of such meeting to support and enhance future cooperation in terms of benefiting from ESCWA\u2019s expertise to implement many of the projects approved by the Ministry within the 2030 agricultural sector development strategy and linking with other international organizations and research and study centers to implement various projects to achieve integrated development that benefits the country, peasants and rural families primarily.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Qatana pointed to the role of ESCWA in facilitating cooperation with organizations to secure the necessary funding to implement development projects, move from the response phase to early recovery, and invest all available resources to establish projects linking agricultural products, their manufacturing and marketing.<\/p>\n

Head of the delegation, Reem Nejdawi, Chief of Food and Environment Policy Section at ESCWA reviewed their work methodology, pointing out the importance of the meeting to learn about the ministry\u2019s needs and its vision for advancing the agricultural sector and developing a future action plan for joint work.<\/p>\n
