Damascus, SANA Damascus University discussed with\u00a0al-Farabi Group for Knowledge and International\u00a0Development the possibility of signing a twining\u00a0agreement between both sides.
\nRector of Damascus University Dr. Mohammad Hassan\u00a0al-Kurdi and an Iraqi academic delegation of al-Farabi Group headed by Dr. Wahab al-Ta’i discussed, during a meeting in Damascus,means of developing\u00a0joint cooperation in higher education field and\u00a0the possibility of making a twining agreement\u00a0between both sides.<\/p>\n
Dr. al-Kurdi briefed the Iraqi delegation on the\u00a0situation of education in the University, its\u00a0collages, institutes and general academic system\u00a0of study, the parallel education and the open-learning in addition to its relations with Arab\u00a0and international universities.<\/p>\n
The rector expressed readiness to cooperate with\u00a0the Iraqi side in regard to the post-graduate\u00a0studies.<\/p>\n
For his part, Dr. al-Ta’i expressed desire to\u00a0establish extraordinary relations of cooperation\u00a0with Damascus University due to its
\ninternationally prestigious reputation, hoping to\u00a0sign the twining agreement in the field of post-graduate studies.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the Group aims at exchanging\u00a0students in the physics, math, bio-geology,\u00a0microbiology, humanitarian science and law.<\/p>\n
Al-Farabi group includes a number of educational\u00a0institutions, research centers, including al-Farabi Institution for Scientific Development, al-Farabi Academic Association, al-Farabi Information\u00a0Academy and al-Farabi Institute for Languages and
\nComputer, in addition to al-Farabi for\u00a0Humanitarian Development and al-Farabi Center for\u00a0Strategic Studies.<\/p>\n
The group also publishes al-Farabi weekly\u00a0newspapers “Farabi Group” and “al-Farabi\u00a0Magazine”.<\/p>\n
