Damascus, SANA- Syria condemned Saturday the use of veto by the United States at the United Nations Security Council session on a draft resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza.<\/p>\n
The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement that this veto shows for the umpteenth time that the United States is not only an accomplice in this massacre, but is the one that is waging a war in the Gaza Strip with the sole purpose of annihilating the Palestinian people and the establishment of the \u201cGreat Israel\u201d over the bodies of Palestinian children and women, and the destruction of homes and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Ministry assured that \u201cDamascus expresses its conviction that the support of Western countries and the United States for \u201cIsrael,\u201d which boast of the so-called \u201cIsrael’s right to self-defense,\u201d is the height of hypocrisy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis support can only be interpreted as permission for \u201cIsrael\u201d to continue its massacre and murder against Palestinians,\u201d the Ministry concluded its statement.<\/p>\n
