Damascus, SANA-Syria complained to the United Nations over fresh terrorist attacks that rocked Aleppo
\ncity.<\/p>\n
Aleppo city on Monday witnessed an uptick in terrorattacks as terrorists fired a barrage of missiles on the
\nneighborhoods of Bab al-Faraj, Bustan Kulaib, al-Jamilieh, al-Baroun and Saadallah al-Jabri, all\u00a0residential neighborhoods in the city.<\/p>\n
12 civilians were killed and over 30 others were wounded, most of them women and children.<\/p>\n
In two identical letters addressed to the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Security Council, the\u00a0ministry said the fresh attacks add to a gross track record of crimes that terrorists linked to what some\u00a0countries like to call “moderate opposition” have been committing.<\/p>\n
The letters noted that Aleppo had tenaciously resisted attempts to drag it into acts of terrorism as some\u00a0terrorist organizations wished, standing firm for a year and a half until countries known for their hostility\u00a0towards Syria gave the go-ahead to terror organizations to enter the city.<\/p>\n
Wreaking colossal damage in the city, the terror organizations in Aleppo killed innocent civilians,
\nbesieged them and used them as human shields, not to mention destroying the city’s health, service,
\neducational and economic infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The ministry highlighted the damage done to the city’s cultural heritage, citing Aleppo’s Grand Umayyad
\nMosque and the city’s ancient Souq, the oldest Souq in the world, both torched at the hands of terrorists.<\/p>\n
Concluding the letters, the ministry urged the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General to\u00a0condemn the crime and take deterrent measures, in cooperation with the Syrian government, against the\u00a0terror organizations and the countries backing them.<\/p>\n
